Biography of Lily Allen
In 2006, Lily Allen released her debut album “Alright, Still,” with hits such as “Smile,” “Alfie,” “LDN,” and “Littlest Things.” Allen is one of the most successful artists that used MySpace as a way to promote music and has been updating her personal page frequently since November 2005. Her first album sold over 3 million copies worldwide and led to a BRIT Award nomination, 2007 MTV ‘Best New Artist’ Award and a Grammy Award nomination.
Although her second album was finished by mid-2008, Lily Allen’s “It’s Not Me, It’s You” was only released on February 2009. The album featured songs like “The Fear,” “Not Fair,” “Fuck You” and “22.” In December 2008, Lily Allen covered Britney Spears’ song “Womanizer,” which became a hit and was included on the iTunes exclusive F.U.E.P. Since her first album was released, Lily Allen has collaborated with a number of artists, including Basemet Jaxx, Robbie Williams, Jamie T., Dizzee Rascal, Common, Jamie Reynolds and New Young Pony Club, among others.
Aside from recording and touring, Lily Allen also hosted her own BBC Three show called “Lily Allen and Friends” which was based on the MySpace phenomenon that helped her get her songs to her fans In 2007, Allen launched her own fashion line called “Lily Loves.” Lily Allen also support a number of causes, including animal rights, equality for gays, international child protection and energy conservation.
Lily Allen dated Chemical Brothers member Ed Simons from September 2007 until early 2008.
